Frequently asked questions
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. The 7-day trial is card-free. If you decide to continue, pick a plan and payment method. If not, your account stays on Free with 5 properties.
Where is my data stored?
Your data lives in PostgreSQL (Neon) in the region you choose (eu-west-1 by default for EU customers). Automatic backups every 6 hours. AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit. We never sell or share your data with third parties.
Can I import my current Excel?
Yes. Our importer accepts .xlsx, .xls, and .csv. It auto-maps columns (or lets you map manually), validates emails/tax IDs and duplicates, and inserts in batch. For large portfolios (1,000+ rows) we do an assisted migration at no cost.
Are the contract templates legally valid?
Our templates follow standard residential lease frameworks (Spain's LAU and comparable EU regulations). They include all mandatory and optional clauses (deposit, IPC/indexation, subletting, etc.). A lawyer should review them for your specific case — Rentcla isn't a law firm, but the legal foundation is solid.
How many users can I have?
Free: 1 user. Starter: 3 users. Pro: 10 users. Business: unlimited. Each user has their own login, role (admin, agent, read-only), and only sees the properties you assign. Full audit log on Pro and Business.
What happens if I cancel?
You can cancel anytime from Settings → Plan. Your account stays active until the end of the paid period. Your data remains in an exportable format (CSV/Excel/JSON) forever. If you come back, we restore everything in one click.
Do you offer support in English?
Yes — full support in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Email (response within 24 business hours), chat (Pro and Business), and dedicated onboarding for large portfolios.
Do you support VeriFactu (Spain's RD 1007/2023)?
Yes, natively. Every invoice you issue is automatically submitted to AEAT in XAdES format, with a hash chain linked to the previous record and a verification QR. Zero configuration — VeriFactu works from day 1 in all accounts.
Is Rentcla GDPR-compliant?
Yes, 100% GDPR-compliant by default. Data hosted in EU (Postgres in eu-west-1, R2 in EU), DPA included in all plans, right to be forgotten, data portability, and export anytime. Signed data processing agreement available on request.
